With a heart full of love…and a tummy full after a lovely dinner with SJ, I have retreated to finally publish a post. I must say I haven’t posted because I’ve been frustrated in Word 2007…well, it’s quite “user friendly” but when I want to post images, I don’t know what Upload URL and source URL to type in. SO…if any one can help me…please, let me know what URLs to use. Sure would appreciate it!
Saint Valentine’s Day…the traditional day on which lovers express their love for each other by sending Valentine’s cards, presenting flowers, or offering confectionery. The holiday is named after two early Christian martyrs named Valentine. The day became associated with romantic love in the circle of Geoffrey Chaucer in the High Middle Ages, when the tradition of courtly love flourished. Some of the valentine symbols include red roses, love knots, love birds. Jewelry has become quite popular, too.
SJ & I made reservations at Emmanuel Lutheran Church for a Spaghetti dinner in their “sweetheart room” (actually, the church’s library) which was very nice. The local Cub Scout troop hosted this fund raiser and while the parents did most of the work…it was for a good cause. The room was decorated with roses, chocolate kisses, peppermints and lots of red! Kudos to the Cub Scouts! We live only a few blocks from the church so when we came home, we exchanged our Valentine cards…and the hugs & kisses.
Last night I baked homemade cut-out sugar cookies for an office Valentine luncheon…our department (Credit) decided to throw a small lunch in honor of St. Valentine (oh heck, we come up with any excuse to eat) with barbeque on a roll, pasta salad, pickled eggs w/beets (the boss made those…very good, Nick!), desserts (too many of those)…ohhh, chocolate covered strawberries (I even dipped my strawberry in strawberry Cool Whip…how good is that! Delectable.
Old Man Winter has been wrecking havoc on us here in Central PA…if we aren’t battling ice and slush…
it’s s-n-o-w! He dumped at least 8 inches of the white stuff on Tuesday! I guess there’s no business like snow business!!!

I need to go spend some quality time with SJ before retiring…5:15 a.m. comes fast!

…in my corner of the world, love is in the air on this Valentine’s Day 2008!

Decorated heart-shaped sugar cookies ready to bake…for some ambience, the old tin cookie cutters, the cooking thermometer and old rolling pin accent the tray.
I put the cookies on a cake pedestal with a white paper doily…
“Yummy, Yummy, Yummy…I got love in my tummy!” The cookies turned out looking very tasty… and WERE!
